World Series in One Venue

The 2020 World Series will be the first to be played in one venue since 1944. That year, the St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Browns 4-2 in a series that was exclusively played at St. Louis’ Sportsman Park. In 1921 and 1922, the World Series was held at New York’s Polo Grounds. But that was because the Yankees and New York Giants had the same home field back then.

The Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas is a retractable roof stadium with artificial turf which opened this year adjacent to the Rangers’ old ballpark. The Rangers are currently in last place in the AL West with a record of 17-30 heading to Tuesday’s games. They have little chance of making the postseason and are nine games out of the Wild Card race.

But despite being on top of the Power Rankings all-season long, no one can say for sure right now who’s going to win the World Series.
